Muhammad ibn Abdullah told us: Humayd told us, from Anas ibn Malik, that he was asked about the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, voluntary prayer and fasting, and he said: He used to fast during the month until we would say he would never break it, and he would break his fast until we would say he would never fast again; and we would never wish to see him praying at night but that we saw him, nor wish to see him sleeping but that we saw him.
