حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا فِي غِلْمَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدَيَّ فَأَرْسَلَنِي فِي رِسَالَةٍ وَقَعَدَ فِي ظِلِّ جِدَارٍ أَوْ فِي جِدَارٍ حَتَّى رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَتْ مَا حَبَسَكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرِسَالَةٍ قَالَتْ وَمَا هِيَ قُلْتُ إِنَّهَا سِرٌّ قَالَتْ احْفَظْ سِرَّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا أَخْبَرْتُ بِهِ بَعْدُ أَحَدًا قَطُّ.

Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Ansari told us: Humayd al-Tawil told us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us while I was among some boys. He greeted us, then took my hand and sent me on an errand, and sat in the shade of a wall - or against a wall - until I returned to him. When I came to Umm Sulaym, she said, 'What kept you?' I said, 'The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, sent me with a message.' She said, 'And what is it?' I said, 'It is a secret.' She said, 'Keep the secret of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him.' And I never told anyone about it afterward, ever.
