حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ مَلِكَ الرُّومِ أَهْدَى لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْتَقَةً مِنْ سُنْدُسٍ فَلَبِسَهَا وَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى يَدَيْهَا تَذَبْذَبَانِ مِنْ طُولِهِمَا فَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَقُولُونَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْكَ هَذِهِ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ فَقَالَ وَمَا يُعْجِبُكُمْ مِنْهَا فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ مَنْدِيلًا مِنْ مَنَادِيلِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ بَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَى جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَلَبِسَهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَمْ أُعْطِكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا قَالَ فَمَا أَصْنَعُ بِهَا قَالَ أَرْسِلْ بِهَا إِلَى أَخِيكَ النَّجَاشِيِّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yunus and Ishaq ibn ‘Isa told us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The King of Byzantium sent as a gift to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a cloak of fine silk, and he wore it, and it is as if I can still see its sleeves swinging from their length. The people began to say, "O Messenger of Allah, was this sent down to you from heaven?" He said, "What amazes you about it? By the One in whose hand is my soul, a handkerchief of Sa’d ibn Mu’adh in Paradise is better than this." Then he sent it to Ja’far ibn Abi Talib, who wore it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "I did not give it to you to wear it." He said, "What shall I do with it?" He said, "Send it to your brother the Negus."
