حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثُمَامَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَوْهُ لَيْلَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ وَصَلَّى لَهُمْ فَخَفَّفَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَطَالَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَطَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ مِرَارًا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَيْنَاكَ فَفَعَلْتَ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Samad told us, Hammad told us, Thumamah told us, from Anas ibn Malik, that the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to him one night in Ramadan, and he prayed with them, but shortened it, then went inside and prolonged his prayer, then came out and prayed with them again, then went inside and prolonged his prayer, and he did that several times. When morning came they said: O Messenger of Allah, we came to you and you did such-and-such. He said: I did that for your sake.
