'Abd al-Rahman told us: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from Thabit, from Anas, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to lick his three fingers when he ate, and said, "If any of you drops a morsel, let him remove any dirt from it and eat it, and not leave it for Satan, and let each of you wipe the dish clean, for you do not know in which of your food the blessing lies."
