Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us: Ibn 'Atiyya—that is, al-Hakam—narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to go out to the mosque where the Muhajirun and Ansar were, and none of them would raise his head from his sitting position except Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and he would smile at them both, and they would smile at him.
