حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ أَنَّ الضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُرَشِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ صَلَّى سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةَ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي ثِنْتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُ أَنْ لَا يَبْتَلِيَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينَ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُ أَنْ لَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا فَأَبَى عَلَيَّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us: 'Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: 'Amr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj: that al-Dahhak ibn 'Abdullah al-Qurashi told him, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a journey pray the mid-morning voluntary prayer of eight rak'as. When he finished, he said: "I have prayed a prayer of hope and fear; I asked my Lord, Mighty and Sublime, for three things, and He granted me two and withheld one: I asked that He not afflict my nation with years of famine, and He did so; and I asked that He not let their enemy overcome them, and He did so; and I asked Him not to make them divided into factions, but He refused me that."
