Waki' narrated to us: Salamah ibn Wardan narrated to me, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to his companions one day: "Which of you has attended a funeral today?" 'Umar said, "I have." He said, "Which of you has visited a sick person?" 'Umar said, "I have." He said, "Which of you has given charity?" 'Umar said, "I have." He said, "Which of you began the day fasting?" 'Umar said, "I have." He said, "It has become assured, it has become assured."
