Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Asim, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, never grieved over any expedition as he grieved over these — they were called the Reciters (Qurra'). Sufyan said: It was concerning them that the verse was revealed: "Convey to our people from us that we are pleased [to have met our Lord] and He is pleased with us." Sufyan was asked, "About whom was it revealed?" He said, "About the people of Bi'r Ma'unah."
