حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فِي حُجْرَتِهِ فَجَاءَ أُنَاسٌ فَصَلَّوْا بِصَلَاتِهِ فَخَفَّفَ فَدَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَعَادَ مِرَارًا كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يُصَلِّي فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّيْتَ وَنَحْنُ نُحِبُّ أَنْ تَمُدَّ فِي صَلَاتِكَ قَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ بِمَكَانِكُمْ وَعَمْدًا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas: that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was praying one night in his room, and some people came and prayed following his prayer. He shortened it, entered the house, then came out again, and this repeated several times, each time he prayed. When morning came, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, you prayed and we would love for you to extend your prayer." He said, "I knew of your presence, and I did that deliberately."
