Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: 'Awf narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, he said: "We set out with an army from Medina toward the east. In the army was Abdullah ibn Sayyad, whom no one would walk alongside, or accompany, or eat with, or drink with, and they called him 'the Dajjal.' One day, while I was stopping at a place of mine, Abdullah ibn Sayyad saw me sitting and came and sat by me. He said, 'O Abu Sa'id, don't you see what the people are doing? No one walks alongside me, no one accompanies me, no one drinks with me, no one eats with me, and they call me the Dajjal. You know, O Abu Sa'id, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that the Dajjal will not enter Medina, and I was born in Medina. And I have heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say that the Dajjal will have no children, yet I have had a child born to me. By Allah, I have been so distressed by what these people do to me that I have thought of taking a rope, going off alone, putting it around my neck, and hanging myself, to be rid of these people. By Allah, I am not the Dajjal, but by Allah, if you wished, I could tell you his name, his father's name, his mother's name, and the name of the town from which he will emerge.'"
