Abu Sa'id narrated to us, Abu Aqil narrated to us, saying: Abu Nadrah narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id, who said: A bedouin came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "The general food of my household is - meaning lizards." He did not answer him. He had not gone far when the man repeated it, and he did not answer him. He repeated it a third time, and he said: "Allah the Exalted cursed - or became angry with - a tribe among the Children of Israel, and they were transformed into animals. I do not know - perhaps it is one of them, so I will not eat it, but I do not forbid it."
