حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَالِدًا يَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لَيَرَوْنَ أَهْلَ عِلِّيِّينَ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ الْكَوْكَبَ الدُّرِّيَّ فِي أُفُقِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ لَمِنْهُمْ وَأَنْعَمَا فَقَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ مَعَ مُجَالِدٍ عَلَى الطِّنْفِسَةِ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ.

Yahya b. Zakariyya b. Abi Za'idah narrated to us, saying: I heard Mujalid say: I bear witness concerning Abu al-Waddak, that he testified concerning Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he heard him say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The people of Paradise will indeed see the people of the highest ranks just as you see the brilliant star on the horizon of the sky. Indeed Abu Bakr and Umar are among them, and how excellent they are!" Isma'il b. Abi Khalid, who was sitting with Mujalid on the carpet, said: "And I bear witness concerning Atiyyah al-Awfi, that he testified concerning Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say that."
