'Abd al-Samad told us: my father told me: 'Abd al-'Aziz — meaning Ibn Suhayb — told us, who said: Abu Nadrah narrated to me, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Are you ill, O Muhammad?" He said: "Yes." He said: "In the name of God, I recite a protective incantation over you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye; God heals you — in the name of God, I recite a protective incantation over you."
