حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَالِمًا يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُقْبَضُ الْعِلْمُ وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْهَرْجُ قَالَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا يَعْنِي الْقَتْلَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Two men among the Children of Israel were companions. One was a sinner and the other was devout. The devout one kept saying to the sinner: Stop what you are doing. One day he found him sinning and said: Stop! The sinner said: Leave me alone with my Lord — were you sent to watch over me? The devout one said: By Allah, Allah will not forgive you — or: Allah will not admit you to Paradise. Allah took both their souls. They gathered before the Lord of the worlds. He said to the devout one: Did you have knowledge of Me, or did you have power over what is in My hand? He said to the sinner: Go and enter Paradise by My mercy. And He said to the other: Take him to the Fire.'
