Muhammad b. Abdullah told us: Ibn Abi Dhi'b told us, from Sa'id b. Sim'an, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The people abandoned three things which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to practice: he, peace and blessings be upon him, when he stood for prayer, would raise his hands, stretching them out, then would pause briefly before the recitation, asking Allah from His bounty, and he would say the takbir every time he lowered and raised himself.
