Abdullah said: I found these two hadiths in my father's book in his handwriting: Muhammad b. Abdullah al-Ansari told us: Muhammad b. Amr told us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not precede the month - meaning Ramadan - by a day or two, unless it coincides with a fast one of you used to observe. Fast upon sighting it, and break the fast upon sighting it; but if it is obscured from you, then count thirty days, then break the fast."
