905/1182(صحيح لغيره)عن سليم بن جابر الهجيمي قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو محتبٍ في بُردة، وإن هُدّابها(1)لعلى قدميه. فقلت: يا رسول الله! أوصني. قال:" عليك باتقاء الله، ولا تحقرن من المعروف شيئاً، ولو أن تفرغ للمستسقي من دلوك في إنائه، أو تكلم أخاك ووجهك منبسط، وإياك وإسبال الإزرار، فإنها من المخيلة، ولا يحبها الله. وإن امرؤ عيّرك بشيء يعلمه منك فلا تعيّره بشيء تعلمه منه، دعه يكون وباله عليه، وأجره لك، ولا تسبنّ شيئاً". قال: فما سببت بعد دابة ولا إنساناً.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sulaym ibn Jabir al-Hujaymi said: I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he was wrapped in his cloak, with its fringes on his feet. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Advise me.' He said: 'You must be conscious of Allah, and do not belittle any act of kindness, even if it is emptying your bucket for one who seeks water, or speaking to your brother with a cheerful face. Beware of dragging your garment, for it is from arrogance, and Allah does not love it. If a person insults you for something he knows about you, do not insult him for something you know about him. Let the consequences fall on him and the reward be yours. And do not curse anything.' He said: After that, I never cursed an animal or a person.
