Usamah ibn Zayd reported: 'The Prophet (peace be upon him) rode a donkey with a padded saddle on a Fadaki blanket, with Usamah ibn Zayd riding behind him. He was going to visit Sa'd ibn Ubadah. He passed by a gathering in which Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul was present — and this was before Abdullah had accepted Islam. The gathering was a mix of Muslims, polytheists, and idol-worshippers, and he greeted them.'
