Abdullah [ibn Mas'ud] said: 'Indeed, As-Salam (Peace) is one of the names of Allah, which He has placed on earth. So spread it among yourselves. When a man greets a group and they respond to him, he has a degree of virtue over them, because he reminded them of the greeting. If they do not respond, then one better and more pleasant than them has responded to him.'
