685/886 عن عمرو بن العاص قال:" عجبت من الرجل يفرّ من القدر، وهو مواقعه! ويرى القذاة في عين أخيه، ويدع الجذع في عينه! ويخرج الضغن من نفس أخيه، ويدع الضغن في نفسه! وما وضعت سرّي عند أحد فلمتُه على إفشاءه، وكيف ألومه وقد ضقت به ذراعاً؟".
انگریزی ترجمہ
Amr ibn al-As said: 'I am amazed at a person who flees from destiny while it is bound to meet him! He sees the speck in his brother's eye but leaves the log in his own! He removes rancor from his brother's heart but leaves it in his own! I have never entrusted a secret to someone and then blamed him for revealing it — how can I blame him when I myself could not bear it?'
