حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خُصَيْفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَزَرِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَا أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ عَجِبْتُ لاِخْتِلاَفِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي إِهْلاَلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ أَوْجَبَ . فَقَالَ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِذَلِكَ إِنَّهَا إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَجَّةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَمِنْ هُنَاكَ اخْتَلَفُوا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَاجًّا فَلَمَّا صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِهِ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْهِ أَوْجَبَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ فَأَهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيْهِ فَسَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ أَقْوَامٌ فَحَفِظْتُهُ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ فَلَمَّا اسْتَقَلَّتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ أَهَلَّ وَأَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ أَقْوَامٌ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ النَّاسَ إِنَّمَا كَانُوا يَأْتُونَ أَرْسَالاً فَسَمِعُوهُ حِينَ اسْتَقَلَّتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ يُهِلُّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَهَلَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ اسْتَقَلَّتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ ثُمَّ مَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمَّا عَلاَ عَلَى شَرَفِ الْبَيْدَاءِ أَهَلَّ وَأَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ أَقْوَامٌ فَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَهَلَّ حِينَ عَلاَ عَلَى شَرَفِ الْبَيْدَاءِ وَايْمُ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَوْجَبَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ وَأَهَلَّ حِينَ اسْتَقَلَّتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ وَأَهَلَّ حِينَ عَلاَ عَلَى شَرَفِ الْبَيْدَاءِ . قَالَ سَعِيدٌ فَمَنْ أَخَذَ بِقَوْلِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَهَلَّ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيْهِ .

Hadrat Sa'id ibn Jubayr said: I said to Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both): 'O Abu al-Abbas! I am amazed at the disagreement among the Companions of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) regarding when the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) raised his voice with the talbiyah when he made Hajj obligatory upon himself.' Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) said: 'I am the most knowledgeable of people about that. It was only one Hajj that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) performed, and that is why they differed. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) set out for Hajj. When he prayed two rak'ahs in his mosque at Dhul-Hulayfah, he made it obligatory in that very sitting and raised his voice with the talbiyah for Hajj as soon as he finished his two rak'ahs. Some people heard that from him and memorized it. Then he mounted his camel, and when it stood up with him, he raised his voice with the talbiyah, and some people witnessed that — for people were coming in groups — so when his camel stood up with him, they heard him raising the talbiyah and said that he raised his voice with the talbiyah only when the camel stood up with him. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) proceeded, and when he reached the high ground of al-Bayda', he raised his voice with the talbiyah, and some people witnessed that and said he only raised his voice with the talbiyah at the high ground of al-Bayda'. By Allah! He made it obligatory at his place of prayer, and he raised his voice with the talbiyah when his camel stood up with him, and he raised his voice with the talbiyah at the high ground of al-Bayda'.' Sa'id said: 'Whoever follows the statement of Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) should raise his voice with the talbiyah at his place of prayer after finishing the two rak'ahs.'

حضرت سعید بن جبیر فرماتے ہیں: میں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے عرض کیا: اے ابو العباس! مجھے تعجب ہوتا ہے صحابۂ کرام کے اختلاف پر کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے کب تلبیہ پکارا جب آپ نے (حج) واجب کیا۔ حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے فرمایا: میں لوگوں میں اس بارے میں سب سے زیادہ جاننے والا ہوں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے صرف ایک ہی حج فرمایا، اسی لیے لوگوں میں اختلاف ہوا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حج کے لیے تشریف لے گئے۔ جب آپ نے ذو الحلیفہ کی مسجد میں دو رکعتیں ادا فرمائیں تو اسی مجلس میں حج واجب فرمایا اور دو رکعتوں سے فارغ ہوتے ہی حج کا تلبیہ پکارا۔ کچھ لوگوں نے یہ سنا اور انہوں نے یہ یاد رکھا۔ پھر آپ سوار ہوئے، جب آپ کی اونٹنی کھڑی ہوئی تو آپ نے (دوبارہ) تلبیہ پکارا، اور کچھ لوگوں نے یہ دیکھا — اس لیے کہ لوگ ٹولیوں میں آ رہے تھے — تو جب اونٹنی آپ کو لے کر کھڑی ہوئی تو انہوں نے آپ کو تلبیہ پکارتے سنا اور کہنے لگے کہ آپ نے تلبیہ تب پکارا جب اونٹنی آپ کو لے کر کھڑی ہوئی۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم آگے تشریف لے گئے، جب بیداء کی بلندی پر پہنچے تو (پھر) تلبیہ پکارا اور کچھ لوگوں نے اسے سنا اور کہا کہ آپ نے بیداء کی بلندی پر تلبیہ پکارا۔ اللہ کی قسم! آپ نے اپنی نماز کی جگہ پر ہی (حج) واجب فرمایا، اور اونٹنی کے کھڑے ہونے پر بھی تلبیہ پکارا، اور بیداء کی بلندی پر بھی تلبیہ پکارا۔ سعید نے فرمایا: پس جو حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کی بات پر عمل کرے، وہ دو رکعتوں سے فارغ ہونے کے بعد نماز کی جگہ پر ہی تلبیہ پکارے۔
