حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ الأَزْدِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُبْشِيٍّ الْخَثْعَمِيِّ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " طُولُ الْقِيَامِ " . قِيلَ فَأَىُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " جُهْدُ الْمُقِلِّ " . قِيلَ فَأَىُّ الْهِجْرَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ " . قِيلَ فَأَىُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " مَنْ جَاهَدَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِمَالِهِ وَنَفْسِهِ " . قِيلَ فَأَىُّ الْقَتْلِ أَشْرَفُ قَالَ " مَنْ أُهْرِيقَ دَمُهُ وَعُقِرَ جَوَادُهُ " .
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Hubshi al-Khath'ami (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked: 'Which deed is the most virtuous?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Standing long (in prayer).' It was asked: 'Which charity is the most virtuous?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The effort of the one who has little.' It was asked: 'Which emigration is the most virtuous?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.' It was asked: 'Which jihad is the most virtuous?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The one who strives against the polytheists with his wealth and his life.' It was asked: 'Which martyrdom is the most noble?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'The one whose blood is shed and whose horse is slain.'
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت عبداللہ بن حبشی خثعمی (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا: کون سا عمل سب سے افضل ہے؟ فرمایا: لمبا قیام — پوچھا گیا: کون سا صدقہ سب سے افضل ہے؟ فرمایا: غریب کی محنت (سے دیا گیا) — پوچھا گیا: کون سی ہجرت سب سے افضل ہے؟ فرمایا: جو اللہ کی حرام کردہ چیزوں سے ہجرت کرے — پوچھا گیا: کون سا جہاد سب سے افضل ہے؟ فرمایا: جو مشرکوں سے اپنے مال اور جان سے جہاد کرے — پوچھا گیا: کون سا قتل سب سے بلند مرتبہ ہے؟ فرمایا: جس کا خون بہایا جائے اور اس کا گھوڑا مارا جائے۔
