al-Hasan (al-Basri)

نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِيرَجُلٍ اشْتَرَى مِنْ أَقْوَامٍ جَارِيَةً قَالَ:" يَسْتَبْرِئُهَا".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "If a man buys a slave girl from people, he must perform istibraa."

نا فُضَيْلٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ:" يُصِيبُ مِنْهَا مَا شَاءَ مَا لَمْ يَمَسَّ فَرْجَهَا".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "He may enjoy her however he wishes, as long as he does not touch her private parts."

نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، نا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَابْنِ سِيرِينَ، مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ هُشَيْمٍ.

Al-Hasan al-Basri and Ibn Sirin held the same views as reported in the hadith of Hushaym.

نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا أَبُو حُرَّةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ:" مَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَحْبِسُوا ذَلِكَ".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "There is no harm in withholding (i.e., practicing withdrawal)."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَمُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالا:" يَجُوزُ الْبَيْعُ وَيَبْطُلُ الشَّرْطُ".

Al-Hasan al-Basri and Ibrahim al-Nakha'i both said: "The sale is valid, but the (invalid) condition is void."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ" أَنَّهُ كَانَلا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يَسْتَرْضِعَ الرَّجُلُ لِوَلَدِهِ الْيَهُودِيَّةَ وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّةَ وَالْفَاجِرَةَ".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "There is no harm in a man hiring a Jewish, Christian, or sinful woman to nurse his child."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ:" لَيْسَ لِلرُّومِ دَعْوَةٌ، قَدْ دُعُوا مُنْذُ أَيَادِ الدَّهْرِ".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "The Romans do not need a new invitation to Islam, for they were invited long ago."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا جُوَيْبِرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: كَانَ يَصِيحُ بِذَلِكَ صِيَاحًا،" أَنْلا دَعْوَةَ لِلرُّومِ".

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: "They used to proclaim that there was no longer any need to invite the Romans to Islam."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ:" يُصَلِّي رَكْعَةً حَيْثُ كَانَ وَجْهُهُ يُومِئُ إِيمَاءً".
