Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10062 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ «خَرَجَ بِهَا مِنَ النَّارِ» فَابْتَدَرْنَا فَإِذَا رَاعٍ فِي شَاءٍ لَهُ فَحَضَرَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا
English Translation
Abdullah said: While we were with the Prophet (peace be upon him), we heard a caller calling: 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Upon the fitrah [natural disposition].' Then he said: 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.' He said: 'He has left the Fire.' We rushed out and found a shepherd among his sheep; the time for prayer had come and he was calling the adhan.
