Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9917 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الشَّافِعِيُّ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا مِرْدَادُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُنَاذِرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ وَأَبِي الْكَنُودِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كُنَّا لَا نَدْرِي مَا نَقُولُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ غَيْرَ أَنْ نُكَبِّرَ وَنُسَبِّحَ وَنَحْمَدَ رَبَّنَا وَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ أُعْطِيَ فَوَاتِحَ الْخَيْرِ وَخَوَاتِمَهُ قَالَ إِذَا قَعَدْتُمْ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ فَقُولُوا التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: We did not know what to say in every two rak'ahs of prayer except to magnify, glorify, and praise our Lord. And indeed Muhammad (peace be upon him) was given the keys of goodness and its conclusions. He said: 'When you sit for the tashahhud, say: All greetings, prayers, and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.'
