English Translation
Yahya ibn Uthman ibn Salih narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, from Abd al-Aziz ibn Muhammad, from al-Harith ibn Fudayl al-Khatmi, from Ja'far ibn Abdullah ibn al-Hakam, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, from Abu Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Every prophet had disciples who followed his guidance and emulated his practice. Then after them come successors who say what they do not do and do what you would disapprove of. Whoever strives against them with his hand is a believer, whoever strives against them with his tongue is a believer, and whoever strives against them with his heart is a believer. Beyond that, there is not even a mustard seed's weight of faith.'
