Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9539 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ {§إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ} قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «لَوْ قَرَأْتُهَا فَاسْعَوْا لَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّى يَسْقُطَ رِدَائِي وَكَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا فَامْضُوا»
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said regarding the verse 'When the call is made for prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah': 'If I had recited it as "fas'aw" (run), I would have run until my cloak fell off.' He used to recite it as 'famdu' (proceed).
