Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9403 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ وَكَانَ يَبِيتُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مَتَى كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يُوتِرُ؟ قَالَ «كَانَ يُوتِرُ حِينَ يَبْقَى عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مِثْلُ مَا ذَهَبَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ حِينَ صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ»
English Translation
Alqamah was asked — and he used to stay with Abdullah ibn Mas'ud — when Abdullah would pray Witr. He said: 'He would pray Witr when what remained of the night was equal to what had passed from the night since Maghrib prayer.'
