Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9366 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَأَى رَجُلَيْنِ يُصَلِّيَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا مُسْبِلٌ إِزَارَهُ وَالْآخَرُ لَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ وَلَا سُجُودَهُ فَضَحِكَ فَقَالُوا مَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؟ قَالَ «عَجِبْتُ لِهَذَيْنِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَمَّا الْمُسْبِلُ إِزَارَهُ فَلَا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَلَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ صَلَاتَهُ»
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud saw two men praying — one of them was letting his lower garment hang below the ankles (isbaal), and the other was not completing his bowing and prostration. He laughed, and they said: 'What makes you laugh, O Abu Abd al-Rahman?' He said: 'I am amazed at these two men. As for the one who lets his garment hang, Allah will not look at him. And as for the other, Allah will not accept his prayer.'
