Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9361 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ «إِذَا شَكَّ الرَّجُلُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلَمْ يَدْرِ أَثْلَاثًا صَلَّى أَمِ اثْنَتَيْنِ؟ فَلْيَبْنِ عَلَى أَوْثَقِ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ يَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ»
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: 'If a man is uncertain in his prayer and does not know whether he prayed three or two (rak'ahs), let him build upon what he is most sure of, and then perform two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw).'
