Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9245 I asked ʿAʿishah ؓ about wiping over the khuff (leather slippers) and she said: Ask ʿAli ؓ . I asked him and he said: Three days and nights - i.e., for the traveller - and one day and night for one who is not travelling (Using translation from Aḥmad 780) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
English Translation
I asked Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) about wiping over the khuff (leather slippers) and she said: 'Ask Ali.' I asked him and he said: 'Three days and nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident.'
