Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9173 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ يَعْنِي زِيَادَ بْنَ فَيَّاضٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «مَا يَأْمَنُ الَّذِي يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ الْإِمَامُ رَأْسَهُ أَنْ يَعُودَ رَأْسُهُ رَأْسَ كَلْبٍ وَلَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ أَوْ لَيُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ»
English Translation
Abdullah said: "The one who raises his head before the imam raises his head is not safe from having his head turned into the head of a dog. And people who raise their gazes to the sky [in prayer] should certainly stop, or their sight will be snatched away."
