Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9074 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ الْتَمِسُوا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ صَبِيحَةَ يَوْمِ بَدْرٍ {يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ} وَفِي إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ وَفِي ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَكُونُ إِلَّا فِي وِتْرٍ
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: "Seek the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) on the seventeenth of Ramadan - the morning of the Day of Badr, the Day of Criterion when the two groups met - and on the twenty-first and twenty-third, for it can only occur on an odd night."
