English Translation
A man came to Ibn Mas'ud and said: 'I passed by a mosque of Banu Hanifah and heard them reciting something that Allah did not reveal: The grinding women grind, the kneading women knead, the baking women bake, the feeding women feed.' Ibn Mas'ud brought forward Ibn al-Nawwahah, their leader, and executed him. He found the rest too many to execute and said: 'I will not slaughter them for the devil today. Send them to Syria until Allah grants them repentance or the plague destroys them.'
