Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8875 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ وَابْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَكَادُ أَنْ يَصُومَ قَالَ «§إِنِّي إِذَا صُمْتُ ضَعُفْتُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالصَّلَاةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الصِّيَامِ فَإِنْ صَامَ ثَلَاثًا مِنَ الشَّهْرِ»
English Translation
Abdullah hardly ever fasted. He said: 'When I fast, I become too weak for prayer, and prayer is more beloved to me than fasting. If he fasted, he would fast three days of the month.'
