Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8868 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يُقِلُّ الصَّوْمَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي إِذَا صُمْتُ ضَعُفْتُ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَتِلَاوَةُ الْقُرْآنِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ»
English Translation
Abdullah used to fast rarely, and when this was mentioned to him, he said: 'When I fast, I become too weak for recitation, and reciting the Quran is more beloved to me.'
