Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8734 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ «مَنْ قَرَأَ الْأَعْرَافَ وَالنَّجْمَ وَاقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَإِنْ شَاءَ رَكَعَ بِهَا وَقَدْ أَجْزَأَهُ عَنْهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ سَجَدَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَرَأَ السُّورَةَ وَرَكَعَ وَسَجَدَ»
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: "Whoever recites Surah al-A'raf, al-Najm, and Surah al-'Alaq — if he wishes he may bow with it and it suffices. If he wishes he may prostrate, then stand and recite another surah and bow."
