Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8503 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُرَّةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ} قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ «أَنْ تُؤْتِيَهُ وَأَنْتَ صَحِيحٌ شَحِيحٌ تَأْمُلُ الْعَيْشَ وَتَخْشَى الْفَقْرَ»
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud, regarding the verse "and gives wealth despite love for it" (2:177), said: "That you give it while you are healthy and miserly, hoping for a long life and fearing poverty."
