Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8473 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِرَأْسِ أَبِي جَهْلٍ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا رَأْسُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ قَالَ «اللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ؟» وَهَكَذَا كَانَتْ يَمِينُهُ فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ إِنَّ هَذَا رَأْسُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ فَقَالَ «هَذَا فِرْعَوْنُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ»
English Translation
'Abdullah said: I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with the head of Abu Jahl and said: "This is the head of Abu Jahl." He said: "By Allah besides Whom there is no god?" — and this was his oath. I said: "By Allah besides Whom there is no god, this is the head of Abu Jahl." He said: "This is the Pharaoh of this nation."
