Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:822 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ كَانَ الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ سَرِيعٍ رَجُلًا شَاعِرًا فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَلَا أُسْمِعُكَ مَحَامِدَ حَمِدْتُ بِهَا رَبِّي؟ قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يُحِبُّ الْحَمْدَ أَوْ مَا شَيْءٌ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ الْحَمْدُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ »
English Translation
Al-Aswad ibn Sari' was a poet who said: "O Prophet of Allah, shall I not let you hear praises with which I praised my Lord?" He said: "Indeed, your Lord loves praise" — or — "nothing is more beloved to Him than praise, than Allah the Mighty and Majestic."
