Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8387 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَذُوعِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِيسَى الْخَزَّازُ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ سَأَلَهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَهُ مَالًا يَتَّجِرُ فِيهِ وَالرِّبْحُ بَيْنَهُمَا فَأَعْطَاهُ عِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ فَاشْتَرَى بِهِ خَمْرًا ثُمَّ قَدِمَ بِهِ الْأُبُلَّةَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عُثْمَانُ فَلَمْ يَدَعْ مِنْهَا دَنًّا وَلَا غَيْرَهُ إِلَّا كَسَرَهُ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَع��نَ الْخَمْرَ وَشَارِبَهَا وَمُشْتَرِيَهَا وَبَائِعَهَا وَعَاصِرَهَا وَحَامِلَهَا»
English Translation
A freed slave of 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As asked him to give him capital to trade with, sharing the profits between them. So 'Uthman gave him twenty thousand dirhams. He bought wine with it and then came to al-Ubullah with it. 'Uthman went out to him and did not leave a single jar or vessel without breaking it. 'Uthman said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed wine and its drinker, its buyer, its seller, its presser, and its carrier."
