Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8378 حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُنْبُورٍ قَالَا ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ قَالَ كَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلِّ بِأَصْحَابِكَ صَلَاةَ أَضْعَفِهِمْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ وَاتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لَا يَأْخُذُ عَلَى الْأَذَانِ أَجْرًا»
English Translation
'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As said: "The last thing the Prophet (peace be upon him) entrusted to me was: 'Lead your companions in prayer according to the weakest among them, for among them are the elderly, the weak, and those with needs. And appoint a mu'adhdhin who does not take payment for the adhan.'"
