English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever touches his private part should perform ablution.' This hadith was not narrated from Ayyub ibn Utba except by Hammad ibn Muhammad. He also narrated the other hadith, and both are authentic in my view. It appears that he heard the first hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) before this one, then heard this one later, which agrees with the hadith of Busra, Umm Habiba, Abu Hurayra, Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, and others who narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) the command to perform ablution from touching the private part. So he heard the abrogated and the abrogating.
