Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8117 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَتَانِي رَبِّي فِي أَحْسَنَ صُورَةٍ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ قُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى ثَدْيَيَّ فَعَلِمْتُ فِي مَقَامِي ذَلِكَ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَقَالَ فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ قُلْتُ فِي الدَّرَجَاتِ وَالْكَفَّارَاتِ فَأَمَّا الدَّرَجَاتُ فَإِبْلَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ فِي السَّبَرَاتِ وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَوَاتِ قَالَ صَدَقْتَ مَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ عَاشَ بِخَيْرٍ وَمَاتَ بِخَيْرٍ وَكَانَ مِنْ خَطِيئَتِهِ كَمَا وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَأَمَّا الْكَفَّارَاتُ فَإِطْعَامُ الطَّعَامِ وَإِفْشَاءُ السَّلَامِ وَطِيبُ الْكَلَامِ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عَمَلَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَتَرْكَ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَأَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ فِي قَوْمٍ فِتْنَةً فَنَجِّنِي غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "My Lord came to me in the best form and said: 'O Muhammad.' I said: 'Here I am at Your service.' He said: 'About what do the Highest Assembly dispute?' I said: 'I do not know.' He placed His hand on my chest, and I knew at that moment everything He asked me about regarding the affairs of this world and the Hereafter. He said: 'About what do the Highest Assembly dispute?' I said: 'About ranks and expiations. As for the ranks: completing wudu in cold weather and waiting for prayer after prayer.' He said: 'You have spoken truly. Whoever does that lives in goodness and dies in goodness, and he will be free of his sins as the day his mother bore him. As for the expiations: feeding food, spreading the greeting of peace, speaking kindly, and praying while people sleep.' Then He said: 'Say: O Allah, I ask You for the doing of good deeds, the leaving of evil deeds, the love of the poor, and forgiveness, and that You accept my repentance. When You intend a trial for a people, take me without being tested.'"
