Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:7804 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الدَّبَّاغُ ثنا الْمُشْمَعَلُّ بْنُ مِلْحَانَ عَنْ مُطَّرِحِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَعَثَنِي اللهُ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ وَأَمَرَنِي رَبِّي أَنْ أَدُقَّ الْمَزَامِيرَ وَالْمَعَازِفَ وَالْأَوْثَانَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تُعْبَدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ وَأَقْسَمَ رَبِّي بِعِزَّتِهِ لَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيدِي إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ إِيَّاهُ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ فَإِمَّا أَغْفِرُ لَهُ وَإِمَّا أُعَذِّبُهُ وَأَقْسَمَ رَبِّي بِعِزَّتِهِ لَا يَسْقِي عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيدِي صَبِيًّا لَا يَعْقِلُهُ إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِثْلَ مَا سَقَاهُ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ إِمَّا أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ وَإِمَّا أَنْ أُعَذِّبَهُ وَأَقْسَمَ رَبِّي بِعِزَّتِهِ لَا يَتْرُكُهُ عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيدِي مَخَافَتِي إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ إِيَّاهُ فِي حَضِيرَةِ الْقُدُسِ»
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah sent me as a guidance and mercy to the worlds, and my Lord commanded me to destroy musical instruments, flutes, and the idols that were worshipped besides Allah. And my Lord swore by His might: No servant of Mine shall drink wine except that I will make him drink from the boiling water - either I forgive him or I punish him. And my Lord swore by His might: No servant of Mine shall give a child who does not understand (the harm of) wine except that I will make him drink the same amount from the boiling water - either I forgive him or I punish him. And my Lord swore by His might: No servant of Mine shall leave it out of fear of Me except that I will give him drink from the enclosure of the Sacred."
