Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:7787 حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَاحِبُ الْيَمِينِ أَمِينٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الشِّمَالِ فَإِذَا عَمِلَ حَسَنَةً أَثْبَتَهَا وَإِذَا عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً قَالَ لَهُ صَاحِبُ الْيَمِينِ امْكُثْ سِتَّ سَاعَاتٍ فَإِنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ لَمْ يَكْتُبْ عَلَيْهِ وَإِلَّا أَثْبَتَ عَلَيْهِ سَيِّئَةً
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The angel on the right has authority over the angel on the left. When a person does a good deed, it is immediately recorded. When he does a bad deed, the angel on the right tells the angel on the left: 'Wait six hours.' If the person seeks forgiveness, it is not recorded against him; otherwise, it is recorded as one sin."
