Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5911 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ دَخَلَ مَسْجِدِي هَذَا لِيَتَعَلَّمَ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيُعَلِّمَهُ كَانَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَمَنْ دَخَلَهُ لِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَحَادِيثِ النَّاسِ كَانَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ مَنْ يَرَى مَا يُعْجِبُهُ وَهُوَ شَيْءٌ غَيْرُهُ»
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever enters this mosque of mine to learn good or to teach it is at the rank of one who strives in the cause of Allah. And whoever enters it for other than that — for idle talk — is at the rank of one who sees what impresses him, but it is something other than what he thought."
