English Translation
Sahl ibn Sa'd narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to lean against a tree trunk. When the people grew numerous, he said: "The people have become many — if only there were a pulpit (minbar) I could sit upon." 'Abbas said: "My father went and cut the wood for the minbar from al-Ghabah. I do not know if he made it himself or had it made."
