Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5298 حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا شُعَيْثُ بْنُ عُبيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زُبَيْبِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ رَقَبَةٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَلْيَعْتِقْ مِنْ بَلْعَنْبَرِ»
English Translation
Al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) — his kunyah was Abu 'Abdullah. He was the disciple (hawari) of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the son of his paternal aunt Safiyyah bint 'Abd al-Muttalib. He accepted Islam when he was eight years old and participated in all the battles with the Messenger of Allah. He was killed on the Day of the Camel in the year 36 AH. [Biographical entry.]
